It was very unfortunate... no excuses -- it was my fault -- but this is what happened:
I was at home, happily asleep in bed, and my phone rang, just after 0100. A (girl) friend of mine had gotten on the wrong train and ended up out in the middle of nowhere, and was freaking out. So I got an address from her, put it in my gps, and headed out. Middle of the night, half asleep, in the rain, blindly following my gps, I went around a curve and... I wasn't expecting to be on a private road. Slammed on my brakes, but it was too late.
Sigh. Glad it's in the past now.
