The gas mileage will get MUCH better as you get more miles on the car. Seems that BMW builds these things super tight and they have to "work" harder at the beggining of their lives. Once you get to around 1200-1400 miles the car will get better mileage and you might notice more power (thats how my current 135 was and older 335) I would image that the same goes for the N55 but no one has had their car long enough for us to know.
