The system shown is cat-back with resonators and the valve option. When the valve is closed exhaust gases go through the muffler and out the inner tips. When open, the muffler route remains open but the path of least resistance becomes straight out the drivers outer tip and across (over the muffler) to the passenger side outer tip. The gentleman I spoke with hadn't heard it himself but by looking at it, with the valve open it's GOT to sound frickin vicious :-D
