You're right - 65mph on a freeway requires a much longer stopping distance versus 30mph on a country road.
I don't tailgate nor do I like it when someone else does, but no way was the Mazda tailgating.
In either case, the BMW driver had options other than threats and is heading for jail or worse if he keeps that up.
