they are actually still as far as i know, the requirement these days is they have to be secured in some way, just not flopping around loose

i remember in NSW for a while, you had to have them secured to the body as well or something

given how tight they are to the intake pipes, that makes them secure - the check they'd do would be to yank on them

if it IS still illegal secured to the intake pipes.. i'd just argue it's not clear in that respect lol
