interesting seeing the German hitch ball design as a U shape (as seen in the link below) when I was in Germany. The 1M will have dual exhaust as other M cars.... which likely means the exhaust will be in the center.... don't know if that will preclude adding a hitch though. but I agree with Dackel... it very may....

The German word for Trailer Hitch = Anhängerkupplung.
I think the main problem with the 1M is that the exhaust muffler sits transverse across/under the rear bumper. Right where a trailer hitch would go. I don't know how you would get around that.
