I originally went with the 128i because it was a cost thing for me. Being a student, I really didn't need the extra cost under my belt with all other expenses...
I really don't regret it. I don't race my 128i at all, but rather like to mod as a hobby (throw around any extra cash I have
) BMW could have added 265hp to give the 128 a larger punch, but for what it is I have no problem with the power.
On top of that my dad is getting his 1M VO in a month because he loved the way the 1'er drives. So I will be able to drive that around for my extra power crave
