The M3 system requires more material to produce, given that it has two separate mufflers. That being said the volume of 1M exhaust sales is *much* more limited. I can see the argument for it costing the same to recoup R&D costs but a lot of the exhaust should be similar to the 135i system.
I wish it was a bit cheaper but with a smaller market, your unit cost goes up.
