The "acordian belows" allow the exhaust system to grow, when it heats up. I would think DP's without them
could have some leaks as the exhaust heats up or cools down. Most exhaust systems grow as they heat up. Typically about 25mm or more. Btw... I have only seen Porsche use these "acordian belows" before on their headers.
