Well then he should have asked before-hand whether the deposit was refundable or not. I asked at every dealer I spoke to in CA and they all told me it was 100% refundable no obligations whatsoever.
I don't plunk down $1000 without knowing what the T&C's are. That's good advice for anybody, anytime.
