Haha don't worry. It's secure so no sparks will fly.
I was going to use crimping wire tap but didn't have any handy at the time.

I spoke with the BT cable support and they said that BMW 1M is not supported by the cable and won't work.

Maybe only way is to bring it to an independent shop.
But they were asking $70 just to take a look at it.. And to reset it is another additional charge.
