M1 was and should always be a supercar from BMW, not a car that is to be at the bottom of the M Family. They should seriously consider using the tii designation for a car that is supposed to be the successor of the 2002. Even though the original M1 was a failure and built by Lambo, it was a BMW project. As much as I would love to get my hands on whatever they name it, it honestly believe that it's not fair to alter the history of the company just to sell a few more cars.

My best name option would be something like BMW M135/M135 tii as they did with the M6 in the 80's, now that they don't mind the ridiculously long name, i.e. BMW Z4 sDrive35is‎. Please don't get me wrong, I'm a BMW purist.
