the oil indicated "dinged" add a quart when it was time for mine. i have added a quart and 1/2 or so with under 6k miles since the run in service. but i have seen 4 track days too. i asked my service guy about it and he said for M's a quart every 1 to 2K is not uncommon. im not seeing any smoke, leaks, or overly black exhaust either.
my RX8 was the worst though....
