You need a compatible tune to run e85.

Currently, all n54 tunes for e85 use a blend as opposed to pure e85.

e85 has an octane rating of RON 109, runs cooler but is about 30% less efficient.

at a mix of 50:50 its about 25% less efficient.

interestingly, a 50:50 mix of e85 with a compatible tune will give comparable results to a meth injected vehicle - the power difference being about 5% lower. effectively, this power increase essentially moves methanol into a minor performance gain category as opposed to medium to high.

e85 is essentially still hard-to-get, corrosive to your fuel system in higher concentrations and ghastly inefficient.

i dont believe any tune yet auto senses the fuel you are running, so if you run to empty and then fill with non e85, the car runs terribly.

e85 is fairly experimental on our platform, but early adopters are reporting exceptional results.

in the early term at least, it looks like a great alternative to methanol.
