I want us to start thinking about our 2nd annual Stelvio tour. We all had so much fun on last years trip. I feel that this year's trip will be even bigger and better!
This past weekend I took a drive down to Stelvio. The road was closed just past the start of the long climb up the mountain. But it will open in late May to early June - once most of the snow and ice melts.
I visited Francesca at her Post Hotel. I have arranged for a group stay price at the hotel. I just need to lock down a date for our tour. So... lets talk about when is a good time.
In talking to Francesca - she told me that in June is a bad time because there is the Giro bicycle race held in Nauders and then a week later on the Pass. Then a week after that is a big motorcycle event. So that puts us in July.
I was thinking of the 13th/14th of July. Would that work for all of you? What about getting to the Stelvio base early a day and driving some of the "other" passes near by?
Flüela Pass on he way towards Davos was a really nice drive. Any other places you guys want to visit/drive?

Optional: Some of us will also take off July 22nd and 23rd and spend two nights in the Kufstein area for more Alpine road driving.
