I know the AL they use on the TT looks really nice!

The Audi trim on the door is not on the handle armrest, but rather just under the window sill; however where the seatbelt rests the AL trim is close and can get hit by the seatbelt as it retracts (like the BMW). Otherwise the Audi AL is pretty much in the same spots (accounting for differences in iterior design of the dash etc.).

I think the Audi does have a protective coating, and the surface seems like it is extruded or something (I am no expert), while ours is just brushed and no finish.
