Yeah, they're pretty conservative. You also have to keep in mind those tunes have to be on the safe side for cars in almost any imaginable scenerio. It has to be reliable both at sea level @ 95F and 7,000ft @20F.
Unfortunately we can't all live at sea level in cool, dry climates
