I don't find it strange that a car that excels on the track would not be as strong in either a street race scenario, or in terms of more normal driving situations. I am not knocking a track car, but different animals. There are certainly some ripsnorting muscle cars that can beat anything off of the line, but due to other issues be difficult to manage on anything that involves curves. Besides, I was happy to find them discussing "fun" as a factor of the car, as that has always been about #1 in my car choices.

I looked through this issue, and found the other car I bought this year, the Jetta TDI Sportswagon. This is a very nice car for going back and forth to the beach, carry lots of stuff, and be a blast to drive. The 41 mpg highway loaded with 3 people, 2 dogs, and a back full of stuff is great too.
