I'll comment 8 years later.
I had a chipped 123d, and I had a stock and chipped 335i.
I love all this talk of in gear times, that a 35i would only be .5 second slower from 80-120kmph, but in a 35i you wouldn't be in 4 or 5th, you would be in 3rd and the 123d wouldn't see which way it went.
This was my old 123d.....
It is a shame I have lost my graph from the 335i, I had one where it was showing 4.5 seconds to 60mph and 12.6 seconds to 1/4 mile.
The 35i is so much quicker in gear, sure you can blur that gap by insisting the petrol is in the wrong gear, but that will only make you feel better if you want to buy the diesel.
