It's even worse in Cali. Especially if you drive a BMW and you try to get into someone else's lane, it pisses them off even more. It's that "you're not going to get ahead of me" mentality.
What pisses me off is when they leave enough room for you to make a lane change but as soon as you signal, they accelerate and block that from happening. It can get pretty nasty.
