Thanks. I had the same problem, and did not enjoy the 'blinker spaz' that came with compensation. I also mistake hi beams for cruise, etc at times, though I chalk it up to my conditioning from being in my last car for 11 years.
BTW for those "read the manual" people....I did read each of the little manuals that came in the leather binder, (which doesnt seem to fit in the glove compartment) but there's only so much one can absorb at once. Also, I fell asleep a few times while reading it. It's not exactly riveting stuff. I did learn that my e90 can't repeal the laws of physics, but that's another thread.
Muscle memory certainly is an odd thing. My Honda had these two little buttons to hit for the horn. It was disconcerting when, while driving my new e90 I saw someone jump out ahead of me and in lightning quick response I ....changed the radio station.
