Thanks mate, that's definitely the way I'm leaning.

If yours is slipping at the moment it'll be the pressure plate not having enough clamping force, Flywheel should be fine to reuse.

Twin plate I would only put on the car if you were chasing big power with a single turbo or something. Shiv did his 1/4 mile record 10.8 with a spec stage 2 clutch and single mass flywheel. Held up even after countless passes. Twin plate is pretty noisy, ask Brule hes got the motiv twin plate setup on his car.

If you go single mass, do not use a 550i clutch! The clutch disc has a solid hub and relies on a dual mass to absorb chatter and vibration. If you go aftermarket like an mfactory flywheel, choose a spec clutch with a sprung hub. Itll still have some chatter but the spring hub clutch disc will make it a bit more bearable. 550i + single mass = massive chatter and noise.
Cheers Vince. I was reading your thread re clutches last night and noticed your comment about the use of a 550i clutch with single mass.

I've seen other people comment on using the 550i clutch in the 1M forum, but the retailers who stock it don't list it as compatible with the 1M. Might confirm if anyone has installed one successfully before I pull the trigger. Looks like the best option, and cost effective too.
