I try to fully charge my GPS before I ever need it (which isn't often, anyway) but if I have to plug it in the cord is long enough to reach the 12V plug under the armrest.

The outlet is to the right, leaving plenty of space for loose change, my wallet, my emergency inhaler, etc
it even has a little door that I can close over it all (not when full, but to hide the change or my inhaler).
I just can't imagine having to drape the cord over your arm and where the shifter is. Seems like it gets in the way... But as long as it works for you that's awesome
