End of August 2010, we were at the BMW CR Oktoberfest races at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc. Very nice countryside to put a race track on, but on the down side, with a 4 mile course with hills in the middle, it's hard to see much of the track from any one spot.

Here are some pics I took as I show you around part of the track:

Our car crossing the start finish line heading South towards turns 1 and 2

Turns 1 and 2 are medium speed right-handers. From Turn 2 (in the background at the far right), you have a high speed section thru the Sargento bridge,

and on to turns 3 and 4 (at high speed) toward the hard braking zone for the left hand Turn 5

If you can slow the car sufficiently and make the turn 5 left hander, you head uphill to the Toyota bridge for a left hander that you can't see until you crest the hill

From Turn 6 you make a downhill run thru 7 towards 8

You make the left hander at Turn 6 and it's down the hill thru 7 towards 8

Turn 8 is the left hander before the carousel and is usually a place to pass into the braking zone after getting a run on a car from Turn 6. The go-kart track is over in this area of the track.

Once you make the left hander at 8, you go under the Johnsonville brigde and on to the Carousel and the back part of the track
