This is exactly what happened with mine. As I was told the clutch wears a specific color when driven rough and shows unevenness in signs of abuse. I knew I hadn't driven it rough but they still had to confirm that it wasn't because of my driving habits (they tried to tell me that I ride the clutch on a ride along, when I was babying the re-engagement due to the CDV). I was told if its less than 10-15k miles they'll replace it without batting an eyelash.
Best of luck! I hope yours gets replaced under warranty cause it is an expensive fix!
