I purchased a used intake from a forum member and followed the DIY from ******** (his post can be seen here:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...00&postcount=1). Instead of using high temperature caulking to seal part of the intake, I used the high temperature insulation tape to seal the entire intake.
I am extremely happy with the way it looks in the engine bay and since the intake does not take as much room as the stock intake I'm now able to access the Burger oil catch can without having to remove the cowl.
I'm unable to comment at this time on a performance gain but I can say it's as quiet as stock. If there is an increase in sound it's negligible.
