2A82 Inlet VANOS error code

Recently, my 135 throwed 2A82 (Inlet VANOS variable CAM control) error code once every 2-3 hundreds miles around 3-4,000 rpm.

I know the first thing to do is to replace the intake VANOS solenoid.

However, my real question is ... Do I need to get this fix ASAP before I take my car to the emission inspection since it is due within the next 4 weeks?

Or can I drive the car easy such that the error code won't pop up again and just to get the car into readyness mode for the emission inspection.

Thanks in advance for the help.
