Aside, it is logical with the torque numbers that the 1M in a sprint will be victorious but it's not all about draggin the cars. These (I mean all M's) are made for driving pleasure, circuit type or mountain driving, anything other than that and the cars' potential is wasted. I think too many people focus on the drag racing issue, for that, the 1 is your bag (or a Mustang 302 boss) but it is also a beast in the twisties.

I agree with Dan, finally people approve that it is an M, problem is that too many people have not yet taken delivery or been able to drive one and that's where speculation sets in. Too bad they made it limited production, affordable and to more people would have opened the door to more interesting M development and opportunities, MHO.
True, but the cars will only be taken to a back road roughly 5% in in it's lifetime. Torque is what you need for day to day...It's ironic because BMW markets the M3 as a race car for the street. Well, it sounds like they are contradicting themselves because if it's going to be used day to day then give it more torque. If you want it to be race car, then make it lighter and keep the torque. Now, I'm not complaining. It's just interesting.
