The PAC will work but you'll need their CAN interface as well. Two separate interfaces...the SWI-XXX (XXX = whatever radio manufacturer you need) is the interface to your specific radio, the SWI-CAN or CAN2 interprets info off of the CAN-bus and sends it directly into the SWI-XXX. The E82 doesn't come up on their online app guide, but I'm pretty sure it works. Just call the 800 number and ask tech support...they're a good bunch of guys.
But be warned that the can+ and can- pins on their instructions are labeled backwards. Ran into this during my last E90 hu swap.
The Metra interface will also work, and only one piece is required, but there's a lot more programming involved. I prefer PAC for steering wheel integration whenever it's an option.

I used a PAC in my Grand Cherokee, and I find it's got quite a bit of delay.
Trying the Metra AWSC just to see if it's a little more responsive. I'll post results when I get a new deck this spring.
Anyone find a double din mounting solution for the E82 yet?
