Not that it's going to sway anyone either way, but don't forget that you actually get a benefit when you "step down" to the 128 - foglights.
I use mine pretty often on my other cars, and think that BMW's not thinking the right way on this issue. As I said, nothing big, but odd that you get more by spending less.
Another thing to think about is that you're eventually going aftermarket in areas like rims, sways, and shocks, stepping up to the 135 would be a waste of $$ (ignoring the bigger engine, of course).
As someone else has said, lining them up and doing back-to-back drives would be the best way to see if the add'l ponies are worth the $$, but just make sure you're looking at the whole picture.
