I went to an advanced driving course a few years back. We were all told to inflate our tires to 36psi cold before arriving. While we were getting briefed, one of the instructors tested all of our tires, the pressures ranged from approx. 15psi to 50 psi.
That was our first lesson - DO NOT TRUST GAS STATION GUAGES AND CARRY YOUR OWN QUALITY GUAGE TO CHECK YOUR TIRES.
