As everyone else here has said - city driving will kill your fuel economy. I live in a small city where it's stoplights / stop signs on every block. Even though I might only drive a mile or two "around town", I'll average anywhere from 13 - 16mpg.

I've also taken my car on an extended 3 hour drive on the freeway. Filled up right before getting on the freeway, reset my usage, and ended up averaging around 29-30mpg for the trip.

Mine is a completely stock 2011 135i DCT with Michelin PSS All Season tires.

Reset your usage, then go cruise at a steady speed for an hour or so and see what you get.
