Also, double clutching is only used when downshifting. You don't give a car gas to rev-match when shifting to a higher gear.

You also don't need to double-clutch in cars built in the last couple of decades, they have synchros to do the job for you (though you can definitely blip the throttle mid-shift to rev-match when downshifting).
