mmmhh, if i see videos from others , i'm thinking the same

1.
what you can do is, filming with 16:9 resolution and edit in 16:9.
if your cam does not support 16:9 you can make your films look like 16:9, by making a black beam ( i hope this is the correct word ) at the top and at the bottom.

2.
another thing is the daytime of filming:
at morning and at the early evening you have the best light conditions.

3.
also you can change the brightness of footage.

4.
last part (not yet used at my actuall released vid's, but in future):
you can change the colours of your film.
for example : reducing red with -16, green with -46, and blue -56
(scale -128 to +128)

Point 3+4 : you have to test which of both or maybe both together makes yout footage looking more like a movie

i've taking a photo with all lights on
Then i changed this photo with corel photo-paint and made 6 or 7 photos out of the first one.
on each photo i removed 2 lights and shaded the photo a little bit
