I know its not the case here...but in NYC its legal to park on sidewalks so long as your car isnt deemed a blockage to sidewalk flow or is physically infront of any doors.
Its very common. Ive had my 1 parked on the sidewalk many times.
Even better is the exemption for electric cars in NYC - they can be parked on any sidewalk in Manhattan. I know there are some pictures of another E parked on the sidewalk in Times Square - Legally!
