if you cut a hole in your original box AND use different air filter, yes sound will be better.
Just changing the filter will not change the sound very much.
Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Si changes sound because it has 2 holes in the side AND it uses a new pipe to throttle body. So if you want more sound, you can try to find a silicone pipe that fits in place of current original BMW pipe
Do not get the link you just showed (Magnum FORCE Stage-2 PRO 5R Intake System 54-11862 ) It has quality problems
