I think the biggest difference with the LL-04 oil is that it is a low SAPS/low ash oil, so it has a lower starting TBN. Therefore, it will not last as long as an LL-01 oil (when used with higher sulfur/ethanol fuels) and the OCI should be much shorter.
It is also geared towards Diesel engines with particulate filters, so as not to clog them up (like a high SAPS/high ash oil would).
