If you need the power, then the 135(new as possible) is it. I keep my cars a long time and for me the 128i Sport Pak. is perfect. One caveat- it must be Sport Pak./6MT and they're not easy to find. Great fun as a reliable daily driver, occasional AutoX and track day. Check Mike Miller's comments on 128i reliability " look for one with Sport or M Sport Package, Xenon headlights, a manual transmission and without navigation." My favorite comment came from BMW North America M brand manager, Matt Russell "the 2008-2012 BMW 128i coupe with a 6 speed manual and Sport or Msport package offers the purest BMW driving experience available right now.( Bimmer Mag.,Oct.2012). None of this makes it as fast as a 135i in a straight line but it sure is a hoot in the curves.
