Isn't Petro 94 just 91 with octane boost? And I'm pretty broke for the next 2 weeks, would it be detrimental if I put in regular(87). My dad uses regular in his 14' 320i (I4 turbo) and his excuse is "it has knock inhibitors."

As for 94 i don't believe so. Personally i would never put 87 in the car, id say stick to the minimum of 91, if you really have too 89, but don't push the car then. I tended to have misfires on 91 even so be prepared that might happen if you go lower.
