That is exactly how I would describe the sound I heard in my car. The funny thing is that I heard it while polishing the rear passanger wheel. It actually startled me and I started looking around the garage to see if it was something else. Then it happened again with the driver's rear wheel. I thought it may have something to do with a runflat sensor.
