Had a '08 135i, now I have a 06 997 C2. The 135i was a very nice and capable car. The 997 is in another league. I liked the looks of the 135, but as Armand says, the 911 is timeless, a classic.
Performance wise I don't know how you can say that the 135 is faster. Maybe initially from a standing start, but the 911 just pulls forever. And from 65 to 100 mph it is no contest.
