You really should be joining BMWCCA which includes your local chapter right there in Houston. Your people there will be able to recommend the best BMW indy garages, plus someone might be able to look at your engine and tell you what is urgent and what can be put off a bit. Someone may be able to work with you in doing a repair.
Oil pan gasket [OPG] and valve cover gasket [VCG] are not easy jobs. First and foremost you should learn to do your own oil changes. And, as already said, the oil filter housing gasket [OFHG] is easy to do while doing an oil change.
