This happened to me for a while but my car never overheated or even got the yellow light, just coolant low sign. I replaced my expansion tank cap and now everything is good. I also bought a new expansion tank since it was only 40 bucks but have yet to put it on. Also you can use zerez g05 coolant In your car it's pretty much identical to bmw coolant if not better.
