These are BMW Performance 1 series wheels and I would have assumed that most people would understand that they would fit a E87/E82/E82 exactly.

Fitting exactly varies as each owners perception will vary. The offset you proclaim isn't correct for a 1er is actually great fitment to some. 130i and 135i rear fitment also differs due to the hub variations (10mm).
