Its true. The front track is wider when you install the M3 front suspension arms. It probably reduces the fender clearance by up to 5mm. I wouldn't buy spacers until you do the M3 arms first. Its a good upgrade though - You will notice the difference in steering response due to camber and stiffer bushings.

If you want to put widest possible front wheels and tyres, you might be better to avoid the M3 parts and instead upgrade the bushes and camber while keeping the standard arms and tension links. If you go that way you will be able to upgrade the standard tension links with aftermarket bushings, but I'm not sure if there are parts available for the lower arms.
