It all depends all your driving. When I take the car to work, which is only 6 km, I will see FE around 16L/100km (18 MPG) When the wife takes the car to work, it is nearly all city freeway and the FE is around 9L/100km (26 MPG) On long highway drives, we can get 7L/100km. (34 MPG). This is for a 135i, but just wanted to show it has more to do with exactly the route and distance you drive than the car.
A good indicator for what kind of mileage to expect is reset the avg speed every time you fill up. When we get 16L/100, avg speed is only between 20 and 30 km/hr. The higher the avg speed, the better the FE.
