This is definitely the tightest part of the fitment, as expected. I can barely stuff my finger (not a bear claw) between the 255/35/19 et31 setup, tightest on the shoulder of the tire to the spring perch/strut tube.
With the 265/35/18 et28, there is better clearance away from the spring perch, but only 3-4mm from strut tube (again, measured with my blind finger). I don't think you could fit a 275/35/18.
