Thermostat stuck open

Hey guys,

I just got a phone call from my dealer stating that my thermostat is "stuck open" and will be $575 to fix... I told him I would pick the car up tomorrow, and do it myself instead.

This is pretty bad luck considering my warranty ended last Monday!

Anyways, the thermostat looks to be around $150 for parts. Do you guys reccomend OEM BMW or aftermarket?

Is this process any different than any other car? I've changed several thermostats on Honda's/Acura's.

Any DIY's online?

Thanks,

Evan
