So you would rather pay $800-1,200 to prevent a $600 surprise? These tire plans rarely pay off. You're much better off paying as you go IF you have any problems. A rear tire is about $400 installed from a local tire shop so you would have to puncture 3 tires for it to even start making financial sense.
