Update: I have now recieved my space grey 1er, fantastic car to drive, loving it everytime time I drive it.
On the alarm front, I have manage to find a place to install an alarm that works with the BMW system for the bargain price of $595 fitted.
It fully integrates and works with the cars electronics and therefore you still just carry the original keyfob around. Alarm works just like the OEM alarm. Its been two days now and I have no problems so far.
Place that I went to was Ryda in Petersham, Sydney. So to 1 owners out there, there is an alternative option if you want an alarm installed without paying big bucks to BMW.
